The LT3652IMSE#TRPBF is a highly efficient power tracking battery charger designed by Linear Technology, which specializes in charging single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer or multi-cell Lead-Acid batteries. This advanced charging device is tailored for modern electronic applications where efficient energy management is paramount.

With an operating voltage range of 4.95V to 32V, the LT3652 adapts to a wide array of power sources, including solar panels and unregulated wall adapters. Its ability to handle up to 2A of charge current makes it a versatile option for various charging needs. The charger's power tracking capability allows for optimal use of available input power, which is particularly beneficial when dealing with limited or variable power sources such as solar panels.

The LT3652IMSE#TRPBF integrates a precise input voltage regulation loop, which controls charge current to maintain the input voltage at a programmed level. When charging from a limited power source, this feature ensures the charger does not collapse the input supply. Additionally, the device offers an adjustable float voltage, which can be set between 4.0V and 4.2V with a resistor divider, ensuring the battery is charged to the proper voltage level for maximum longevity and performance.

Temperature compensation is another key feature of the LT3652, which adjusts the float voltage based on the battery temperature, thus protecting the battery from overcharging at high temperatures and ensuring the battery is fully charged at cold temperatures. The charge termination is programmable, and an onboard timer provides a safety backup for charge termination.

The LT3652IMSE#TRPBF also includes a C/10 charge termination indicator, which provides a signal when the charge current falls below one-tenth of the programmed maximum current, indicating that the charging cycle is complete. An additional status pin indicates the presence of an input voltage and can be used to enable a downstream load while the input power is connected.
