Additional Details
The HCPL-2612-000E consists of two light emitting diodes and two integrated high gain photodetectors. Separate connections for the photodiode bias and output transistor collector increase the speed up to a hundred times that of a conventional phototransistor coupler by reducing the base-collector capacitance. The device's small size and industry-standard 8-Pin DIP package make it easy to integrate into existing and new designs. It operates within an industrial temperature range, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. The open collector output provides flexibility in interfacing with various logic families.
It's commonly used where digital signals need to be transmitted without a direct electrical connection. This prevents ground loops and protects equipment from high voltage.
