The NXP 74HCT139 is a high-speed Si-gate CMOS device that is pin compatible with Low power Schottky TTL (LSTTL). It is specifically designed for high-performance memory-decoding or data-routing applications, requiring very short propagation delay times. In high-performance memory systems, these decoders can be used to minimize the effects of system decoding. When used with high-speed memories, the chip's performance characteristics can help to eliminate the need for wait states.
This integrated circuit features two individual 2-to-4 line decoders in a single package. Each half of the 74HCT139 can be used as a function generator that's capable of providing all four minterms of two variables. These decoders accept two binary weighted inputs (nA0, nA1) and, when enabled, provide four mutually exclusive active LOW outputs (nY0 to nY3).
