Product Description

The 74HC377 is an octal D-type flip-flop with clock enable. It features eight edge-triggered, D-type flip-flops with individual D inputs and Q outputs. The common clock (CP) and master reset (MR) inputs load and reset all flip-flops simultaneously. The register is enabled by a low on the clock enable (CE) input. When CE is high, the operation of the flip-flops is inhibited and their outputs remain stable, allowing for reduced power consumption during idle periods.

This device can be used in a variety of applications, ranging from temporary storage to shift registers and as control registers. The use of a master reset simplifies the design of sequential systems by instantly resetting all flip-flops during system initialization. The tri-state output feature allows for increased flexibility in bus-oriented systems by enabling multiple outputs to connect to a common bus line without interference.
