Product Overview: 74HCT563D from NXP
The 74HCT563D is a high-speed Si-gate CMOS device from NXP Semiconductors, designed to deliver the electrical characteristics of high-speed TTL combined with the very low power consumption of CMOS integrated circuits. This particular product is a non-inverting octal transparent latch with 3-state outputs, making it an ideal choice for temporary storage of data, buffering, and bidirectional bus interfacing in a wide range of digital applications.
Key Features
- Logic Type: Octal D-type transparent latch
- Output Type: 3-state
- Package: SO20, SOT163-1
- Operating Temperature: -40 °C to +125 °C
- Supply Voltage Range: 4.5V to 5.5V
- Compatibility: Input levels are TTL compatible
- High-Speed Performance: Tpd of 15 ns (typical) at Vcc = 5V
Functional Description
The 74HCT563D contains eight latches with 3-state outputs for bus organized systems applications. A latch enable (LE) input and an output enable (OE) input control the latches. When LE is HIGH, data on the inputs pass through to the outputs. When LE is taken LOW, the data that was present at the inputs at the time the transition occurred is retained at the outputs. The outputs can be placed in either a HIGH or LOW state by applying a HIGH or LOW to the OE input, respectively.
Applications
With its robust feature set, the 74HCT563D is suitable for a multitude of uses, including:
- Temporary data storage
- Data buffering
- Bus interfacing and bus matching
- Control systems
- Microprocessor bus switching
Quality and Reliability
NXP's commitment to quality ensures that the 74HCT563D, like all of their products, meets stringent industry standards for performance and reliability. It is manufactured in a facility that adheres to rigorous environmental and process controls, guaranteeing a reliable and eco-friendly product.
