The SN74LVC16T245DGGR is a dual-supply voltage level translator from Texas Instruments, designed with the capability to operate from 1.65 V to 3.6 V. It allows bidirectional voltage translations between 1.8 V and 5 V, without the need for a direction pin.

The device has two 8-bit input-output (I/O) ports (A-Port and B-Port), which are designed to track two different power supply rails, VCCA and VCCB respectively. VCCA should not exceed VCCB. The direction-control input pin (DIR) determines the data flow direction. When DIR is high, data is passed from the A-Port to the B-Port (A to B), and when DIR is low, data is passed from the B-Port to the A-Port (B to A).

The SN74LVC16T245DGGR is designed for asynchronous communication between two data buses. The logic levels of the direction-control (DIR) input activate either the B-port outputs or the A-port outputs. The device transmits data from the A port to the B port when the B-port outputs are activated, and from the B port to the A port when the A-port outputs are activated. The input circuitry on both A and B ports is always active and must have a logic HIGH or LOW level applied to prevent excess ICC and ICCZ.

The SN74LVC16T245DGGR is available in a 48-pin TSSOP package. It features a maximum data rate of 380 Mbps, making it suitable for high-speed data transfer applications. The device also supports low-voltage digital logic applications, and is specified for partial-power-down applications using Ioff. The Ioff circuitry disables the outputs, preventing damaging current backflow through the device when it is powered down.
