Product Description

The SN74HC373NS device features eight D-type latches with 3-state outputs designed to interface directly with the bus-structured systems. With a wide operating voltage range of 2 V to 6 V, it provides great flexibility for use in various applications. The low power consumption of the HC373 device, combined with its high-speed performance equivalent to that of the LS-TTL outputs, makes it an efficient choice for modern digital systems.

Each latch is transparent, meaning that when the latch enable (LE) input is high, the Q outputs follow the data (D) inputs. When LE is taken low, the Q outputs are latched at the levels set up at the D inputs. Furthermore, a buffered output enable (OE) input can be used to place the eight outputs in either a normal logic state (high or low logic levels) or the high-impedance state. In the latter mode, the outputs neither load nor drive the bus lines significantly, which is ideal for bus-oriented systems.

The robust design of the SN74HC373NS ensures that it can operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, making it reliable in various environmental conditions. The device is also packaged in a slim outline package (SO), suitable for surface-mounted technology, which is an essential requirement for modern PCB design and compact electronic assemblies.
