STMicroelectronics ULN2003TTR Darlington Transistor Array
The ULN2003TTR from STMicroelectronics is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistor array designed to interface between low-level logic circuitry and multiple peripheral power loads. This integrated circuit is comprised of seven NPN Darlington pairs that feature high-voltage outputs with common-cathode clamp diodes for switching inductive loads.
The collector-current rating of each Darlington pair is 500 mA, and the entire array is capable of handling a total current of 3.5 A, making it suitable for directly driving a wide range of loads such as relays, solenoids, LED displays, incandescent lamps, and stepping motors. The ULN2003TTR is particularly well-suited for applications that require high current and/or high voltage switching operated by a low-voltage, low-current microcontroller or logic system.
Key Features:
- Seven Darlingtons per package
- Output current 500 mA per driver (600 mA peak)
- Output voltage 50 V
- Integrated suppression diodes for inductive loads
- Outputs can be paralleled for higher current
- TTL/CMOS/PMOS/DTL compatible inputs
- Input pins placed opposite to output pins to simplify layout
The device is supplied in a 16-pin plastic DIP (dual in-line package) with a suffix "TTR" indicating tape and reel packaging, which is ideal for automated assembly processes. The ULN2003TTR has a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, ensuring reliability over a broad spectrum of industrial and consumer applications.
Applications:
- Relay drivers
- Stepper and DC brushed motor drivers
- Lamp drivers
- Display drivers (LED and gas discharge)
- Line drivers
- Logic buffers
The ULN2003TTR is a versatile and robust solution for designers looking to bridge the gap between low-power digital logic and higher-power load requirements, providing a compact and efficient means of driving a variety of outputs with ease and reliability.
