STMicroelectronics M48T08-100PC1 Timekeeper SRAM

The M48T08-100PC1 is a high-performance 64 Kbit Timekeeper SRAM manufactured by STMicroelectronics. This integrated device combines a static RAM with a software-compatible real-time clock, a crystal, and a power-fail control circuit, all in a single 28-pin DIP package. This unique combination of elements makes it an ideal solution for systems that require reliable data storage and precise timekeeping, even in the absence of power.

At the heart of the M48T08-100PC1 is a 8K x 8 non-volatile static RAM, which provides a dependable storage solution for critical data. The data is maintained by an onboard lithium battery that can ensure data retention for over 10 years. The real-time clock (RTC) provides a full complement of features including seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, with automatic leap year adjustment up to the year 2099.
