Maxim Integrated MAX6714CUB+ Quad Voltage Monitor
The MAX6714CUB+ is a high-precision quad voltage monitor designed by Maxim Integrated to ensure reliable operation of microprocessor (µP) systems. This compact and efficient device is specifically engineered to monitor multiple supply voltages in digital systems, providing a crucial safeguard against power failures and undervoltage conditions. Its primary function is to assert a reset signal whenever any of the monitored voltages fall below their factory-programmed thresholds, ensuring that the µP and other critical system components operate within their specified voltage ranges.
This versatile voltage monitor comes in a space-saving 10-pin µMAX package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. The MAX6714CUB+ features four independent voltage monitor inputs, which are factory set for common threshold voltages but can also be adjusted using external resistors for custom applications. The device is capable of monitoring voltages as low as 1.25V, with a precision of ±1.5% over the full temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
One of the key attributes of the MAX6714CUB+ is its low power consumption, drawing a quiescent current of only 7µA per voltage monitor input. This makes it suitable for portable and battery-powered devices where power efficiency is critical. Additionally, it offers a manual reset input, allowing for an external trigger to initiate a system reset, and a reset timeout period that can be set by an external capacitor to provide a controlled delay.
The device provides an active-low reset output, which remains asserted for a minimum of 140ms after all voltages have returned to acceptable levels, ensuring a proper system reset. The MAX6714CUB+ operates over a wide supply voltage range from 1.8V to 5.5V, covering most logic levels and power supply standards.
Whether it's for computers, controllers, intelligent instruments, or portable devices, the Maxim Integrated MAX6714CUB+ offers a reliable and efficient solution for voltage monitoring and system protection, ensuring that your electronic systems operate safely and effectively.
