Maxim Integrated DS1339U-3+ Real-Time Clock

The DS1339U-3+ from Maxim Integrated is a highly accurate, low-power, serial real-time clock (RTC) with a built-in 56-byte, battery-backed SRAM. Offering full binary-coded decimal (BCD) clock/calendar functionality, this RTC is designed to provide precise timekeeping and data storage in a variety of applications, from embedded systems to industrial controls and portable consumer electronics.

This compact RTC integrates a crystal oscillator and leverages a 2-wire serial interface compatible with I²C for communication, simplifying integration into existing designs. The device supports a wide voltage range of 2.3V to 5.5V, making it flexible for various power supply scenarios and ensuring reliable operation even during voltage fluctuations.

One of the standout features of the DS1339U-3+ is its automatic power-fail detect and switch circuitry.
