The MAX6384XS26D3 is a highly reliable, low-power microprocessor (μP) supervisory circuit designed by Maxim Integrated to monitor power supplies in μP and digital systems. It provides excellent circuit reliability and low cost by eliminating external components and adjustments when used in system monitoring applications. This device is particularly suitable for portable electronics, computers, controllers, and intelligent instruments where maintaining the correct operation of the μP during power fluctuations is critical.

This supervisory circuit operates by providing a reset signal to the connected μP during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions. When the monitored power supply voltage falls below a preset threshold, the MAX6384XS26D3's active-low reset output is asserted to prevent the μP from executing erroneous instructions. This reset signal remains asserted for a minimum timeout period after the supply voltage exceeds the reset threshold, ensuring the μP has adequate time to stabilize.
