The DS1743P-100IND+ is a robust, feature-rich timekeeping RAM product designed by Maxim Integrated, tailored to meet the stringent demands of industrial applications. This high-performance, nonvolatile memory device combines a full-function, year-2000-compliant (Y2K-compliant) real-time clock/calendar (RTC), an NV SRAM controller, and 256k x 8 nonvolatile static RAM in a single package. Engineered to maintain data integrity and provide precise time tracking, even in the event of a power failure, the DS1743P-100IND+ is an ideal solution for critical data and timekeeping applications.

Operating at a voltage range of 3.3V, the device features an integrated lithium energy source and a control circuitry that constantly monitors VCC for an out-of-tolerance condition. When such a condition occurs, the device automatically switches to its backup power supply, thus preserving the integrity of the data and the functionality of the real-time clock. The clock is accurate to ±1 minute per month at 25°C, ensuring high precision in time-sensitive applications.

The DS1743P-100IND+ offers a convenient surface-mount package and is fully operational within the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, which makes it exceptionally suitable for harsh environments. Its nonvolatility eliminates the need for an external battery, reducing system complexity and maintenance concerns associated with battery replacement and disposal.

This memory device is equipped with an array of features, including a programmable interrupt function, a power-fail write-protect for the SRAM, and a watchdog timer to ensure system reliability. It also provides a century byte that rolls over from 99 to 00 and a day-of-the-week register for versatile calendar management.
