Description

The DS1308U-33+ is a versatile and low-power real-time clock (RTC) from Maxim Integrated that provides a full binary-coded decimal (BCD) clock/calendar with 56 bytes of NV SRAM. Address and data are transferred serially via a 2-wire, bi-directional I²C interface. The clock/calendar provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information. The end of the month date is automatically adjusted for months with fewer than 31 days, including corrections for leap year.

Operating within the 2.0V to 5.5V voltage range at a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the DS1308U-33+ is designed for digital systems requiring low-power consumption, an I²C interface, and long-term data retention without external power. The device's energy needs are minimal, making it particularly suitable for battery-backed non-volatile timekeeping in a wide array of products.
