Functional Description
The 74HCT423D device features two independent monostable multivibrators (or 'one-shots') with retriggerable capability. Each multivibrator has an active LOW trigger input (A), an active HIGH trigger input (B), an overriding active LOW direct clear input (nCD), an output (Q), and an inverted output (nQ). The device can be triggered on the falling-edge of input A or the rising-edge of input B. Once triggered, the output Q goes HIGH and the nQ goes LOW. The output pulse width is determined by external timing components (resistor and capacitor).
Applications
The 74HCT423D is suitable for a wide range of applications, including:
- Timing circuits
- Pulse shaping
- Missing pulse detection
- Enabling/disabling functions
- Industrial controls
- Embedded systems
