The NXP 74HCT195 is a high-speed Si-gate CMOS device that is pin compatible with low power Schottky TTL (LSTTL). It is designed to have the same switching characteristics as the 74HC195 and is fabricated using silicon gate CMOS technology to achieve operating speeds similar to LSTTL with the low power consumption of standard CMOS integrated circuits.

Product Description
The 74HCT195 is a 4-bit shift register with fully synchronous serial or parallel data entry selected by an active LOW parallel enable (PE) input. The device features a serial data input (DS), four parallel data inputs (D0 to D3), a clock input (CP), an overriding asynchronous master reset input (MR), and a clock inhibit (CI) input. Outputs Q0 to Q3 provide the parallel outputs, and a serial output (Q4) is provided for cascading purposes. This allows for multiple 74HCT195 devices to be connected in series for applications requiring longer shift registers.
The shift register has three fundamental data entry modes: Shift left, parallel load, and reset. Data shifts one place to the left on each low-to-high transition of the clock (CP) input if CI and PE are both held HIGH. The information present on the parallel data inputs (D0 to D3) is loaded into the register when PE is LOW and CP goes HIGH. The MR input can override all other inputs and clear the register asynchronously when taken LOW.
With its balanced propagation delays and edge-triggered clocking system, the NXP 74HCT195 provides a reliable solution for applications in communication systems, data processing, and control systems where efficient data handling is crucial. The device is available in a standard 16-pin DIP or SO package, making it easy to integrate into a wide range of electronic circuits.
