Functionality
The NXP PC74HCT173P contains four edge-triggered D-type flip-flops with individual D inputs and Q outputs. The common clock (CP) and master reset (MR) inputs load and reset all flip-flops simultaneously. The state of each D input, one setup time before the LOW-to-HIGH clock transition, is transferred to the corresponding flip-flop’s Q output. The D inputs are available for cascading of the flip-flops during multiple-bit data transfer. The MR input has priority over the CP input and, when LOW, resets all flip-flops.
Applications
With its robust design and high-speed operation, the PC74HCT173P is suitable for a variety of applications including:
- Buffer storage
- Data storage
- Data transfer switches
- Control registers
