The DIO7552/7553 is power distributionswitchesthat intended for applications whereprecisioncurrent limiting is required or heavycapacitiveloads and short circuits are encountered. Thedevice provides up to 2.31 A of continuousloadcurrent. When the voltage is higher thanthemaximum voltage of 5%, the chipcouldbemaintained for at least 10 ms without damage.
A programmable current-limit thresholdisofferedbetween 400 mA and 2.57 A (typ) via anexternalresistor. Current-limit accuracy is ±10%at 1A.The power-switch rise and fall timesarecontrolled to minimize current surges duringturnon/off. A constant-current mode is usedwhentheoutput load exceeds the current-limit threshold.
The DIO7552/7553 limits the output current toasafe level by using a constant-current modewhenthe output load exceeds the current-limitthreshold. An internal reverse voltage comparatordisables the power switch whentheoutputvoltage is driven higher than the input toprotectdevices on the input side.
