The SIOV-Q20K210 varistor utilizes a zinc oxide (ZnO) ceramic material. When an overvoltage event occurs, the varistor's resistance rapidly decreases, diverting the surge current away from the protected components. Once the overvoltage subsides, the varistor returns to its high-resistance state, ready to protect against the next surge.
